On a warm and sunny December day Porth went on a day-trip to the Roseland on the trail of seaglass treasures.
A short ferry trip on the King Harry Ferry brought me to this wonderful Cornish peninsula. St Just church is, I would argue, the most beautiful and tropical churchyard I’ve ever been to. With the tide in, on a still day the reflections of the church are exquisite.
Back in my days of being a teacher, many hours were spent in this location on land and sea with a tribe of children experiencing school-camps. I’ve seen this place in all weathers!
The outing also took me to St Mawes for some lunch and coffee, Porthcurnick Beach and Porthbean Beach.
After a successful day beach-combing these pieces of seaglass were shared on Instagram and Facebook.
Angela fell in love with the little white heart and placed a bespoke order for it to be made into a ring.
Fast-forward to January and with her ring size measured she asked to be surprised with the band style as she simply couldn’t decide!
And here’s the result…a beautiful, bespoke, handmade silver ring.
The Post Office told me not to expect the package to arrive for a few days due to the snow in North Cornwall but they’ve amazed me by delivering to Newcastle the following day! Well done Royal Mail!
Here’s the latest member of the Porth Mermaid Tribe.
“Thank you sooooooo sooooo much!!! It’s beautiful!”
