Granite Salt Cast Necklace – Laura Polley

Description

A granite-textured silver bar with statement salt casting.  Varying weights of chain give the necklace interest and a contemporary look.  The handmade granite textured clasp finishes the piece.

This collection has been inspired by water and the ocean.  Each shape is made using recycled silver and cast into Atlantic Ocean seawater.  The result is these fluid unique and organic shapes. Some of the casts are reminiscent of water droplets or splashes on rocks, others of sea beans – seed pods that move around the ocean and can be carried for thousands of miles between continents.
