Studio Sessions Jewellery Workshops
Keum Boo Gold is a focused jewellery workshop on Keum-boo, the traditional Korean technique of fusing fine gold to silver. You’ll see examples in physical form and images of jewellers’ work before learning how to apply gold yourself. You will get to explore the technique whilst making a flat piece of jewellery using fine silver sheet such as earrings or a pendant before moving on to a sterling silver ring-band and learning about depleting to bring fine silver to the surface. At the end of the session you can add a black patina to your work if you wish.
You may wish to bring your own silver jewellery that you have made to experiment with.
This includes:
Fine silver sheet to make one item of jewellery (20x40mm)
Fine gold leaf (20x20mm).
4mm rectangular wire to make a ring band.
More can be purchased if required at the session. Refreshments are also included.
This workshop is held at Inspire Makers, 5 High Street, Falmouth, Cornwall.
