Green Seafoam Seaglass Pendant – Greenbank

Description

Hand-carved green seafoam seaglass beach combed on Grenbank Beach, Falmouth.  The Cornish seaglass has a delicate texture formed by the motion of the tides and features a teardrop attachment that mirrors the shape of the glass.  The seaglass measures approximately 15 x 12 mm.

The sea glass in this ring was beach-combed at Greenbank in Falmouth.  This small beach is accessible at low tide, nestled between Greenbank Hotel and the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.  Behind the beach is an impressive terrace of large houses, many of which were built as houses for Packet Captains relating to the movement of Packet Ships for news and information.  At the southern end of the terrace was the old Falmouth Prison.  Many interesting finds can be uncovered here including numerous old clay pipes and pottery.
