Description

Want to learn a new way to elevate your designs? Spend the day being taught how to set a faceted stone in to a tube setting.

What will I learn?

In the morning you will learn how a tube setting a faceted stone works and be taught how to set a faceted cubic zirconia (CZ) in to a copper tube. The stones will be a max of 3mm diameter. We will discuss tools, techniques and ways to add this type of setting to your designs.

You can then move on to setting your own stone into your own design. Silver will be at cost price during the workshop and CZ stones can be purchased from the selection – these stones are typically under £2 each.  If you wish to bring your own semi-precious stone or set in gold I can advise on sizes and suppliers but I don’t hold these in stock.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is suitable for people with some experience in jewellery making, soldering and using tools.

It is not suitable for complete beginners.

What is included:

One Cubic Zirconia (CZ) faceted stone, 3mm (a selection of colours)

Copper/brass tube and copper sheet/wire for the morning session

Tuition and information sheet to take away for future use

Refreshments

Extras on the day:

Silver to refine your skills in the afternoon and make a finished piece of jewellery.

You can upgrade to silver in the morning too if desired.

Silver is charged at the end of the workshop at that days bullion price.  Your final piece will be weighed and calculated accordingly.

You can see guide prices here in the FAQ’s.

Jewellery boxes (if needed)

What should I bring?

  • Reading Glasses (I have some optical visors for the job in the studio!)

  • A design you wish to add a tube setting to such as a pre-made ring or pendant.  This will help you to focus on the skill during the afternoon however if you need to do this in the session that’s completely fine!

  • Any faceted stone that you wish to set (3mm). If you wish to set in a gold tube you will need to bring this too but again, I can advise on size and stockists.  3mm CZ’s are available to purchase the day.

Vouchers available – valid 12 months from purchase date.
